PARKING SPACE MARKINGS

Parking spaces along the curbline of a street or in a parking lot are delineated by white lines of various patterns. These markings help drivers position their vehicles in the intended manner to maximize the efficient use of the available parking area. [MUTCD Section 3B.18]
