RE: II-409(E)--Norridgewock Dynamic Sign

Dear Mr. Audibert:

Thank you for your February 28 letter to the Office of Transportation Operations (HOTO-1) concerning your request to experiment with the "Norridgewock Dynamic Sign."

We find the additional information acceptable and approve your Request to Experiment with this electronic warning sign. We will begin the experimental schedule on February 1, 2001. Please note that we are requesting regular progress reports every 6 months, and that the experimental approval will be rescinded if regular reports are not submitted within 45 days following each 6 month period. Finally, a copy of the final results is due to HOTO-1 within 3 months following completion of the experiment.

Good luck with the project. We look forward to the results and the promise of a new traffic control device that will improve the mobility and safety of our roads. If you have any questions, please call Mr. Ernest Huckaby at 202-366-9064.

Sincerely yours,

Shelley J. Row, P.E.
