Re: 2(09)-4 (E) – Overhead Lane-Use Signs for Active Traffic Management—WA

Dear Mr. Nisbet:

Thank you for your October 21 request for an expansion of the scope of your approved experimentation with changeable overhead lane-use signing for active traffic management. Your request to expand the experiment to State Route 520 is hereby approved. The additional locations will be considered separately for incorporation into this experimentation at such time as they near the implementation date.

We look forward to receiving your semi-annual progress reports based on field data collection and observations that compare the effectiveness of the experimental devices with that of conforming, non-experimental devices. Your experimentation continues to have the following official ruling number and title: "2(09)-4 (E) – Overhead Lane-Use Signs for Active Traffic Management—WA." Please refer to this number and title in any future correspondence.

Sincerely yours,
