Dear Mr. Peterson:

Thank you for your letter of March 30 requesting experimentation with blue thermoplastic pavement marking material on the South Burlington STP BIKE(28)S Bridge #68 project.

Your evaluation plan has been reviewed and approved with the following change to the plan. The plan is acceptable except for the selection of the color blue for the pavement marking material. According to Section 3A.05 of the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control devices, the blue pavement marking material is reserved for delineating parking for persons with disabilities. In recent conversations between Ms. Cherie L. Kittle of the Traffic Control Device Team, and Mr. Ande Deforge, Project Supervisor, it has been agreed that either green or magenta thermoplastic marking material will be substituted for the blue requested in the evaluation plan. Please let Ms. Kittle know the final color selected for the project in order to keep the experimentation file up-to-date.

For future reference purposes, we have assigned your request the following official experimentation number and title: IX-67(E) - South Burlington STP BIKE(28)S Project.

We appreciate the effort that you and your staff put in developing this evaluation plan and look forward to reviewing your first semi-annual progress report this fall. If you have any questions during your experimentation, please contact Ms. Kittle at 202-366-2188.

Sincerely yours,
