Figure 2F-8. Examples of Conventional Toll Plaza Advance Signs
This figure shows two examples of conventional toll plaza advance signs.
The first example shows a square green sign with a white border. It shows a Toll Pass logo on a horizontal purple rectangle above the word "ONLY" in black on a horizontal white rectangle, which is above a short downward-pointing white arrow. A note states: "The ETC pictograph that is shown is only an example. The pictograph for the toll facility's adopted ETC system shall be used."
The second example shows a horizontal rectangular green sign with a white border and legend. It is divided into two vertical sections by a vertical white line. A horizontal rectangular yellow plaque with a black border and legend is shown at the top of the sign, spanning both sections. It shows the words "PAY TOLL 1 MILE." The left section of the sign shows a square M4-18 exact change symbol to the left of the words "EXACT CHANGE 75¢" on three lines above the words "CARS ONLY NO TRAILERS" on two lines on a horizontal white rectangle, which is above the words "CENTER LANES" in white. A note states: "The M4-18 symbol is optional for an exact change lane." The right section of the sign shows a square M4-17 toll collector symbol on the top line, the words "CASH - CHANGE" on the second line, the word "RECEIPTS" on the third line, and the words "RIGHT LANE" on the bottom line. A note states: "The M4-17 symbol is optional for an attended lane."
