This figure illustrates markings for two linked roundabouts.

This figure shows two roundabouts connected by a vertical roadway. Both roundabouts show a green central island surrounded by a circular roadway. A narrow band shown as composed of a contrasting pavement texture separates the island from the circular roadway. Both roundabouts show roadways entering the roundabout from the north, south, east, and west. A triangular splitter island separates the opposing travel lanes of each road where it intersects the circular roadway. Notes state: (1) "Pedestrian facilities are not shown." and (2) "The marking configuration shown on this figure requires U-turning drivers to change lanes within the circulatory roadway."

Around the outer edge of each circular roadway, a solid white line is shown across the base of each splitter island, a wide dotted white line is shown intersecting each of the entering lanes, and no line is shown intersecting the exiting lanes.

On the roundabout at the bottom of the page, the roadway entering the roundabout from the west is shown with two lanes on the right side of the splitter island entering the roundabout and one lane to the left exiting the roundabout. The roadway entering the roundabout from the east is shown with one lane on each side of the splitter island. The roadway entering the roundabout from the north is shown with two lanes on the right side of the splitter island entering the roundabout and three lanes to the left of the splitter island exiting the roundabout. The lanes entering and exiting the roundabout from the south are shown separated by solid white line. The lanes entering and exiting the roundabout from the west and north are shown separated by a broken white line, which changes to a solid white line further away from the roundabout. On the roadway entering the roundabout from the west, a left-turn white arrow is shown marked on the pavement of the left lane and a three-direction white arrow is shown marked on the pavement of the right lane pointing to the left, straight ahead, and to the right. On the roadway entering the roundabout from the south, a two-direction white arrow is shown marked on the pavement of the left lane pointing to the left and straight ahead, a white arrow is shown marked on the pavement of the middle lane pointing straight ahead, and a two-direction white arrow is shown marked on the pavement of the right lane pointing straight ahead and to the right. On the roadway entering the roundabout from the north, a two-direction white arrow in the left lane is shown pointing to the left and straight ahead, and a two-direction white arrow in the right lane is shown pointing straight ahead and to the right.

Optional diagonal yellow crosshatch markings are shown extending from the pavement around the central island into the circular roadway opposite the points where lanes enter and exit the circular roadway from the south.

Opposite the splitter islands on the roadways from the west and south, the circular roadway is shown as two lanes, with a solid white line separating the two lanes opposite the splitter islands and changing to a normal broken white line opposite the points where lanes from the roadways enter the roundabout. Opposite the splitter island on the roadway from the west, a two-direction white arrow pointing to the left and straight ahead is shown marked on the pavement of the left lane, and a white arrow pointing straight ahead is shown marked on the pavement of the right lane of the circular roadway. Opposite the splitter island on the roadway from the south, a left-turn white arrow is shown marked on the pavement of the left lane, and a two-direction white arrow pointing to the left and straight ahead is shown marked on the pavement of the right lane. A note states: "Lanes are channelized to the outside to prevent trapping movement at next roundabout. The vertical roadway to the north is shown leading to a second roundabout at the top of the figure. The southbound lanes of the vertical roadway are shown as two lanes to the right of an elongated splitter island, and the lanes are shown separated by a broken white line. The northbound lanes are shown as three lanes to the right of this splitter island. The left lane is shown separated from the middle lane by a dotted white extension line that changes to a solid white line closer to the second roundabout, and the middle and right lanes are shown separated by a broken white line that changes to a solid white line closer to the second roundabout. The left lane is shown with a left-turn white arrow marked on the pavement of the left lane, followed by the word "ONLY" and another left-turn arrow.
