Figure 2F-5. Examples of Guide Signs for Entrances to Toll Highways or Ramps

This figure shows three examples of guide signs for entrances to toll highways or ramps.

A note indicates that the ETC pictographs shown are examples only. The pictograph for the toll facility's adopted ETC system shall be used.

The first example is labeled "Entrance to a Toll Highway on Which Registration in a Toll Account Program is Not Required." It shows a horizontal rectangular green sign with a white border and legend. It shows a red and blue I-21 route shield to the left of a yellow rectangular panel with the word "TOLL" in black lettering on the first line, the word "Farmington" on the second line, the words "Grand Junction" on the third line, and the words "EXIT 1 MILE" on the bottom line.

The second example is labeled "Entrance to an ETC Account-Only Toll Highway or Entrance to a Toll Highway via an ETC Account-Only Ramp." It shows a horizontal rectangular sign with a green background with white letters and border, above which is shown a purple panel with white border, separated from the green sign by a horizontal white line that extends fully across the sign. On the purple panel are shown a purple Toll Pass logo surrounded by a horizontal rectangular white border to the left of a white horizontal rectangular panel with the word "ONLY" in black letters. On the green background is shown a State route 869 route shield, above which is a yellow horizontal rectangular panel with the word "TOLL" in black letters and to the right of which is shown the word "EAST", on the first line. On the second line is shown the word "ORLANDO." On the bottom line is shown the words "EXIT 1/2 MILE."

The third example is labeled "Entrance to Non-Toll Highway via an ETC Account-Only Toll Entrance Ramp." It shows two horizontal rectangular signs. The first sign is labeled "(the toll entrance is the only connection provided in the vicinity)." The sign is shown with a purple background and white border on the top portion, followed by a horizontal white line that extends fully across the sign, below which is a green background with white lettering and border. In the purple background area is shown a purple Toll Pass logo surrounded by a horizontal rectangular white border, to the left of a horizontal rectangular white panel with the word "ONLY" in black letters. In the green background area is shown a red and blue I-7 route shield to the left of the word "NORTH" in white letters on the first line, and a horizontal white right-pointing arrow on the bottom line.

The second sign is labeled "(an alternate non-toll entrance is provided in the vicinity)." The sign is shown with green background with white letters and border. On the top line is a red and blue I-7 route shield to the left of the word "NORTH." On the second line is the word "VIA." Below that is a horizontal white line extending fully across the sign. The portion of the sign below the horizontal white line is separated into a left half and a right half by a vertical white line. In the left half is shown a horizontal white panel with the words "NO TOLL" in black letters above a short vertical up-pointing white arrow. In the right half is shown a purple Toll Pass logo surrounded by a horizontal rectangular white border, above a white horizontal rectangular panel with the word "ONLY" in black letters, above a short white horizontal right-pointing arrow.
