Figure 2I-1. Emergency Management Signs

This figure shows 14 emergency management signs. Except for the EM-1 and R1-1 signs, they are shown as rectangular white signs with black borders and legends.

EM-1 is shown as a square sign with a blue circular disk on which are shown a white arrow and white lettering. A vertical upward-pointing white arrow is shown above the words "HURRICANE EVACUATION ROUTE" shown on three lines. An asterisk to the right of the sign is denoted as "HURRICANE is an example of one type of evacuation route. Legends for other types may also be used, or this line of text may be omitted."

EM-2 is shown as a horizontal rectangular sign with the words "AREA CLOSED" on two lines.

EM-3 is shown as a horizontal rectangular sign with the words "TRAFFIC CONTROL POINT" on three lines. It is shown directly below an R1-1 red octagonal Stop sign.

EM-4 is shown as a vertical rectangular sign with the words "MAINTAIN TOP SAFE SPEED" on four lines with the word "TOP" in larger letters.
