Figure 2E-10. EXIT ONLY Panels for Right Lane Dropped at an Interchange

This figure shows EXIT ONLY panels for a right lane dropped at an interchange.

The figure shows segments of one direction of a vertical highway labeled U.S. 40 & SR 7 at the bottom, depicted with three lanes, with the direction of travel from the bottom to the top of the figure. Near the top of the figure, the left and center lanes are shown continuing straight (labeled U.S. 40), and the right lane is shown splitting from the others and curving to the right (labeled SR 7). A series of four horizontal rectangular green signs with white legends and borders are shown along the highway from the bottom to the top of the figure.

The first sign is shown located over the right lane of the highway. It shows a white square with a black numeral "7" on the first line, the word "Medford" on the middle line, and the words "1 MILE" on the third line. Under the third line, a horizontal rectangular yellow panel is shown as the bottom section of this sign, with the words "EXIT" and "ONLY" in black separated by a downward-pointing vertical black arrow with a short shaft, all on one line. A smaller horizontal rectangular green plaque is shown above the top right side of the sign. It is shown with the words "EXIT 44."

The second sign is also shown located over the right lane of the highway. This sign and its plaque are shown as identical to the first sign and plaque except that the words "1 MILE" are deleted.

Just prior to the lane separation, the third sign is shown located over the right lane of the highway. This sign and plaque are shown as identical to the first and second signs except that a large diagonal white arrow with a short shaft pointing up and to the right is shown to the right of the word "Medford" and the black arrow is deleted between the words "EXIT" and "ONLY."

The fourth sign is shown in the gore between the two lanes continuing straight and the right lane that splits off to the right. It is shown as a smaller horizontal rectangular sign with the word "EXIT" on the top line and the numerals "44" to the left of a large diagonal white arrow with a short shaft pointing up and to the right on the bottom line.
